The Company

GateWay Fax Systems is dedicated to manufacturing the best and most complete line of Secure Fax products for use with the STE, OMNI, Sectera, STU-IIB, STU-IIIA as well many other cryptographic devices.

The Need

When GateWay Fax Systems wanted to add features to its existing product line, modifications to proprietary FPGA logic was necessary.  Among the newly desired features was the ability to autonomously differentiate between synchronous and asynchronous modes of operation and determine the baud rate when in asynchronous mode.  Without an in-house hardware design team, GFS needed a skilled FPGA design partner to work closely with its software engineers to devise a solution to integrate these new features.

Our Role

Neoventus collaborated closely with GFS engineers to design, implement and test the newly desired features.  To mitigate risk and meet tight budget constraints, Neoventus’ approach was to integrate new features as non-intrusively as possible with the existing logic.  Neoventus engineers studied the existing logic and devised a strategy to implement new features leaving the existing logic virtually untouched.  This ensured that new features would operate transparently to legacy functions.
