Michael R. Koch (Mike) received the B.S. degree in Physics from Randolph-Macon College in 1982 and the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University in 1989.  Mike’s experience includes more than 24 years of electronic circuit design and system development for military, space, industrial, and commercial applications.

Mike is currently a Principal co-owner and Senior Design Engineer at Neoventus Design Group, LLC in Charlottesville, Virginia.  He has served as a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer at ADI Engineering, Inc. (2001 – 2007), a Research Scientist for Barron Associates, Inc. (2000 –2001); a Staff Electrical Engineer for GE Fanuc Automation, 1997 – 2000; a Senior Hardware Design Engineer for the NASA Langley Research Center (1989 – ’97); and as an Electronics Engineer David Taylor Naval Research Center (1984 – ’89).  Mike’s experience is diverse and he has developed scores of electronic solutions for CPU, communication, control and data acquisition systems.  Many of these applications have required stringent military or space qualification.

Mike is accomplished in the development of microprocessor/microcontroller-based applications.   He has designed/developed embedded systems based on a variety of processor architectures including those from Intel, Hitachi/Renesus, Freescale, AMCC, Texas Instruments, NetSilicon and others.  Mike has also developed logic for several complex PLD circuits and has been a member of teams developing large scale ASIC and FPGA applications.  Mike has lead engineering teams on numerous projects.
